Welcome, my name is Tomasz Diduch and I’m 18 years old.

I’m very interested in western Ukraine - its culture, nature and history. In my opinion, these territories are the most beautiful in Europe and I'm glad that the Ukraine is becoming more modern. I believe that, the Ukraine together with the Poland, creates beautiful event which will be the Euro 2012.

This year, I would like to go on a trip to western Ukraine. I would like also to visit your city.
So I have a question. Does your City Council is able, to send any free promotional gadgets (pens, shirts, pencils, etc...), and some tourist materials (maps, brochures, catalogs), so that I can better know your city?

If you can send these materials, here is my adress:

Tomasz Diduch
Bielsko-Biala, 43-300
st. Agronomówka 22
Poland

Please, accept my request.

Best wishes,
Tomasz Diduch.

I am from Poland, but my family was living in Kolomyja until 1944/45. My Grandgrandfather had a mechanical depot there, very useful for years. Somebody told me the air base is now in that area, but who knows if it is true...
I wonder if there are any photos of those days, any persons who could new anything about Holdanowicz family.

Hi - I am trying to find the birth certificates of my great-grandparents, who were born in Kolomyia in the 1880s. Does anybody know where I can find them? Will they be in the Kolomyia City Hall, or will they have moved them to the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast archive?

According to my experience most of the archives in Kolomyya (and that includes birth certificates)before WWII were lost in 1939-1944. If there still any information about you ancestors then in Ivano-Frankivsk. In general the situation with the birth records in Ukraine before Soviets wasn't that accurate as in USA,for example, as these records were made by churches and very often they got lost during fire, war etc.
